How Did This Accident Occur?

A lot of times when people see a vehicle hit a pedestrian in the area of a major roadway, they assume the pedestrian was just in a place they shouldn’t have been. That’s possible, of course, but it’s important to know the full context of what happened. Was the victim outside of the traffic lanes? Were they by a disabled car? Were they trying to wave down traffic? Was there some kind of emergency going on?

In my experience, people are just less likely to reserve their judgment when it comes to pedestrians. Ultimately, though, they have loved ones who deserve clear answers, and that means considering all possibilities—likely or not. If authorities are seeing to that, that’s good. It’s just not something I’d take for granted without following up first and seeing what kind of answers they can provide.
