Second, were the headlights of the motor vehicle on? If it were driving on the roadway without its lights on then that would make it much more difficult to be seen by the bike rider. Third, were the brakes and steering working properly? Did the driver attempt to avoid a collision with the biker but end up being unable due to a mechanical malfunction or product defect?

I hope the authorities in charge of investigating this accident are being open-minded and thorough enough to answer all these questions. If they are somehow lacking, a third party investigator can always step in to take up their slack. After all, the victim’s loved ones deserve to know and understand the details and have hard evidence to back them up. It’s not enough for them to be handed vague excuses that heap an unfair amount of blame on the shoulders of the deceased.
