How Did This Accident Occur?
When folks hear about a pedestrian hit along a highway, they tend to assume the pedestrian must have done something wrong. But with a driver fleeing the scene, that’s rarely a good indicator of the driver not doing something wrong, themselves. Common reasons drivers leave an accident scene can include having warrants, driving drunk, and drugs. Just half an hour after bars close, my experience says alcohol is very likely.
Of course, know for sure means finding the driver involved in the accident. If authorities have yet to accomplish that, it might help if they put out more information to the public. Someone is often able to connect dots authorities couldn’t, which could lead to answers, accountability for leaving the scene, and potentially accountability for actions that may have contributed to the accident.
