Accident Report
Williamson County, TX — May 15, 2026, Ricardo Guzman and Alejandro Villalobos were killed and Robert Cabello was injured in a car accident at about 2:40 p.m. on F.M. 1660.
A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2004 Pontiac GTO was heading west when it collided with an eastbound 2018 Chevrolet Colorado near County Road 406.
Both men in the Pontiac, 22-year-old Taylor residents Ricardo Guzman and Alejandro Villalobos, died from injuries suffered in the crash northwest of Coupland, according to the report.
Chevrolet driver Robert Cabello, 53, was seriously injured in the crash, the report states, while the 45-year-old woman riding with him suffered minor injuries.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Williamson County crash at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Did the Pontiac drift out of its lane? Was it trying to pass another vehicle? Did it have a problem with its brakes or steering mechanism? Was the driver distracted, perhaps by a cell phone? These are the kind of questions that authorities must consider as they work to reconstruct this accident.
Investigators should find answers as they pore over witness statements, physical evidence, data from both vehicles and any available video footage of the crash. Cell phone records could show what each driver was doing at the time, but an outside expert may be needed it authorities suspect a mechanical issue contributed to this crash. That warrants a forensic examination of the vehicles, one most law enforcement agencies don’t have the time or training to conduct, in my experience.
A thorough investigation will provide a clear picture of what happened on F.M. 1660 for those who are grieving or recovering from this crash.
