Dimmit County, TX — March 6, 2024, Ricardo Elizondo was injured in a car accident shortly after 9:00 a.m. along U.S. Highway 83.
According to authorities, 50-year-old Ricardo Elizondo was traveling in an eastbound Ford Fusion on U.S. Highway 83 in the vicinity south of Carrizo Hill Drive when the accident took place.
The Ford was reportedly slowing in preparation of making a right turn into a private drive. Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, a Hyundai Santa Fe which had been traveling eastbound behind the Ford Fusion attempted to pass the Ford using the right shoulder. During the attempt, the front left of the Hyundai collided with the back right of the Ford.
Elizondo incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the wreck. He was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
