Accident Report

March 17, 2026, Raul Gallegos and a child were killed and another was hurt following a car accident at around 6:30 p.m. on Culebra Road.

Authorities said in preliminary statements that the crash happened along Culebra Road approaching the North Elmendorf Street intersection.

It appears that 20-year-old Raul Gallegos and a 12-year-old were in a car going along Culebra. A 66-year-old woman was in another vehicle. Authorities say that street racing may have led to the car and the woman’s vehicle crashing. Due to the collision, the child in the car was killed. It appears Raul Gallegos later succumbed to fatal injuries, as well.

Police say they’re looking for a black pickup which may have been involved in the events leading up to the crash.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Police allege that racing may have been a factor here, but it’s important to take early reports with a grain of salt. Things can get lost in translation between the crash site and the news desk, and sometimes authorities just get the facts wrong. Instead of jumping to conclusions, it’s best to focus on gathering evidence and letting the facts speak for themselves. That’s especially true if officers are still looking for a suspect driver who may have set all of this into motion.

If anyone thinks they know the driver police are looking for, they should share what they know ASAP.
