Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

Hopefully authorities were thorough with their investigations behind the scenes, considering current public information is pretty scarce. My concern with single-vehicle wrecks is frankly that authorities don’t always give them the attention they need. If authorities don’t have the time, training, or tools to consider complex possible factors like mechanical defects, tire failure, road design flaws, and other unusual events, they could easily miss something.

That’s why so many of the calls I get from people are families whose loved ones died in a single-vehicle wreck, and they feel they’re not getting the whole story. Sometimes independent investigations can reassure them authorities told them all there is to know. Other times, they show that authorities missed something important. Either way, the evidence needs to be able to speak for itself, and I can’t confidently say that’s happened here.
