Wood County, TX — December 31, 2023, a Quinlan man was injured following a single-vehicle accident at around 6:15 p.m. on U.S. Highway 80.
Authorities said in their preliminary statements on the crash that it happened in the area of the U.S. Highway 80 and F.M. 3056 intersection, between Mineola and Hawkins.

According to officials, a 34-year-old Quinlan man was in a Honda Pilot going eastbound on the highway. The vehicle apparently went to the left and crashed into the guardrail. The vehicle then veered back to the right where it hit the opposite barrier, and the driver was thrown from the vehicle as a result.
Officials say the driver of the Honda had serious injuries due to the accident. There were no other occupants in the vehicle, according to investigators. Right now, the cause of the crash has yet to be confirmed.
