According to official reports, Pura Benavides was travelling in a BMW on Mueschke Rd. in the northbound lanes, at the Louetta RD. intersection, when a Chevy Sonic coming from the south on Louetta failed to yield the right-of-way and struck Benavides .
As a result of the impact, both vehicles sustained significant damage. When first responders arrived on the scene, they found that Benavides had sustained serious injuries and transported Benavides to the hospital.
