Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

It’s obviously very serious that OSHA reported multiple alleged serious violations here. But even if those allegations are true, there could still be more to this story left unaddressed. People don’t often realize that Texas work accident law doesn’t always guarantee that families will get benefits after an accident. This means a lot of families end having to deal with the employers themselves. That can present significant hurdles, considering employers have teams of professionals dedicated to avoiding responsibility. As such, even when OSHA find serious mistakes from an employer following a fatal accident, families may still find there’s a lot of work to do before they can get a resolution that’s fair.
