2 Injured in Possible Drunk Driver Accident on Dallas North Tollway in Dallas, TX

It appears that two men, a 27-year-old Madisonville man and a 58-year-old Conroe man, were on foot in a construction area along the southbound lanes. The area was reportedly marked with barrels and an arrow board, diverting traffic onto Loop 635. Approaching the area, though, a Honda CR-V reportedly crashed through the construction area, resulting in the Madisonville man and the Conroe man suffering serious injuries. There did not appear to be any other confirmed injuries.

Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

Details say that the Honda driver may have been drinking, but this has yet to be confirmed. Frankly, I’d be surprised if alcohol didn’t play a role in this accident. This late at night, someone not seeing a whole marked construction zone diverting traffic off the highway is a pretty serious sign they weren’t in their right state of mind. I tend to see that sort of behavior in the cases I’ve handled against negligent bars who have over-served someone well beyond the point of legally intoxicated. Maybe something unusual led to this particular accident, but experience tells me thorough investigations would likely reveal similar events led to this crash.
