Accident Report

August 22, 2026, multiple people were injured after a boat versus pontoon accident late Saturday on Pat Mayse Lake.

Preliminary information about the crash says that it happened on the lake, several miles north of Paris near the Oklahoma state line.

It appears that a bass boat somehow crashed into a stationary pontoon carrying nearly a dozen people. As a result, reports say multiple people had injuries. Those injuries appeared to not be serious.

All said and done, evidence could even show this involved some freak vehicle defect the boat operators couldn’t avoid. What’s important is for investigators to treat this like any serious accident.
