Webb County, TX — February 8, 2024, one person was injured in a car accident during a police chase at approximately 11:30 a.m. along Farm to Market 1472.
According to authorities, eight people were traveling in a southbound Chevy Equinox SUV on F.M. 1472 in the vicinity south of the Pinnacle Road intersection when the accident occurred.

Officials indicate that the SUV was apparently evading police leading up to the crash. The vehicle reportedly failed to control its speed. The front right of the SUV collided with the back left corner of a southbound Isuzu van occupied by a 30-year-old man. The collision caused the van to go into a side skid before overturning, coming to a stop resting on its roof on the west side of the road.
The SUV made a left turn onto World Trade Center loop before coming to a stop; it was there apparently abandoned by all of its occupants. Each of them were reportedly later apprehended.
The sole occupant of the van incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the accident and was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
Additional details pertaining to this incident—including the identity of the victim—are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
