Houston, TX — November 30, 2025, four people were injured following a police car accident that happened at around midnight on Taum Street.

Investigators said that the accident happened at the intersection of Taum Street and Chenevert Street.

According to officials, a Houston Police Department cruiser was going northbound through the intersection. Another car was going westbound. The two vehicles crossed paths and collided.

Due to the accident, two officers and two others were injured. At this time, authorities are looking into alcohol as a possible factor. Investigations continue.

At this time of night, it would frankly be unusual if authorities didn’t consider alcohol as a possible factor. But even if this was a drunk driving crash, that leaves another important detail to look into: Where did that alcohol come from?

Not a lot of people realize that alcohol providers in Texas can be held responsible for contributing to serious accidents. If they unlawfully over-serve someone, and that person harms themselves or others as a result, the alcohol provider can face consequences under Texas law.

So while some might think this is all pretty straight-forward, the reality is these reports may just be the tip of the iceberg. Depending on what details come to light, there could still be a local establishment putting the community at risk who needs to be called out.
