Burnet, TX — December 31, 2025, one person was injured as the result of a runaway plane accident that happened around 4:00 p.m. at the municipal airport.
Authorities were called to the Burnet Municipal Airport, located south of town off South Water Street/US 281.
In preliminary statements, officials say that a pilot was outside of their plane at the time at the airport. While outside the plane, it somehow started moving. This ultimately resulted in the pilot being injured and the plane crashing into a fence line.
No other injuries were reported. Additional details are unavailable right now.

Just like cars, there are a lot of things mechanically and electronically that can go wrong with an airplane. While people may want to jump to all kinds of conclusions, it’s important to focus on the evidence and make sure even unlikely possible factors are being thoroughly investigated.
