Van Zandt County, TX — April 18, 2026, Peyton Mathieu was injured in a car accident at about 12:50 a.m. on Interstate 20 near Van.
A preliminary accident report indicates that a westbound 2025 Nissan Sentra crashed into the median barrier after swerving to avoid a vehicle that was stopped in a traffic lane near the rest area at exit 537.
Nissan driver Peyton Mathieu, 27, was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report.
