Accident Report
Victoria, TX — April 2, 2026, Petey Hernandez was killed in a car accident just before 6 a.m. in the 1200 block of East Mesquite Lane.
A preliminary accident report indicates that a westbound 2002 Toyota 4Runner allegedly ran a stop sign and hit a pedestrian at the intersection with North Laurent Street.
The pedestrian, 62-year-old Ian Pete “Petey” Hernandez, died April 8 at a San Antonio hospital from injuries suffered in the crash, according to the report.
The Toyota driver, a 52-year-old woman, was charged with manslaughter, the report states. She was not injured in the crash.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Victoria County crash at this time.
