Angelina County, TX —February 6, 2024, Perry Curry Jr. and one other person were injured in a car accident at about 1:30 p.m. along U.S. Highway 69.
According to authorities, a 74-year-old woman and 80-year-old Perry Curry Jr. were stopped for a stop light in a Hyundai Tucson in the left most westbound lane of S.H. 69 at the F.M. 326 intersection when the accident occurred.

Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the Hyundai was rear-ended by a westbound Chevy Silverado. The collision caused both vehicles to veer left, crashing into the roadside ditch on the south side of the roadway where the Hyundai reportedly overturned, coming to rest on its roof.
Curry incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the wreck, while the female occupant of the Hyundai reportedly sustained moderate injuries. Both victims were transported to local medical facilities by emergency medial services in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
