Travis County, TX — December 25, 2023, a pedestrian was killed due to an alleged hit-and-run accident just before midnight along Highway 71.
Details released by officials put the accident at approximately 11:51 p.m. on westbound Highway 71, just of Paleface Ranch Road in the Spicewood area.
According to officials, a 41-year-old man was on foot on the westbound lane of the highway, though its unclear if he was crossing the road or walking along it. Police say a westbound Dodge Ram 1500 hit the pedestrian, then left the scene. The pedestrian was found deceased due to the collision.
Authorities indicate they were able to locate the suspect driver thanks to tips, and there were recommendations for a failure to stop and render aid charge. No further information is available at this time.
