Authorities did not release details about the suspect vehicle. Investigations are ongoing.

How Did This Accident Occur?

While there are all kinds of factors that can lead to a pedestrian accident, a driver fleeing the scene just after 1:00 a.m. raises red flags for possible drunk driving. It’s a common time for drunk driving, and it’s a common reason people flee accident scenes. Maybe other factors led to this accident, but my experience would make alcohol the first area to look into. Doing so, though, likely requires locating the runaway driver. Hopefully authorities can release additional details about that vehicle to the public. A lot of times, someone in the community can help connect the dots so the driver will ultimately be held responsible.
