Accident Report
March 31, 2026, one person was killed due to a hit-and-run accident at around 12:30 a.m. along the LBJ Freeway.
Initial statements about the accident say that it happened along the eastbound I-635 service road in the area of Coit Road. It appears that a vehicle struck a man who was in the area of the service road. The vehicle then fled the scene.
Due to the collision, the pedestrian was killed. Authorities continue to search for the hit-and-run driver.
How Did This Accident Occur?
People tend to assume the worst of pedestrians involved in car accidents, but the fact a driver allegedly fled the scene suggests the driver may have been the one in the wrong. I’ve seen many hit-and-runs where drivers found the runaway driver, looked into the events of the accident, and found out the reason they ran was related to the accident itself. Alcohol, for example, is very common—especially just after midnight.
Of course, to find out for sure, authorities need to find the driver involved here. The more information they put out to the public, the more likely it is someone is able to connect the dots. If anyone knows something they think could be helpful, speak up as soon as possible.
