Accident Report

July 1, 2026, one person was injured following a pedestrian hit-and-run accident at around 3:00 a.m. on Laureland Road.

According to initial details about the accident, it took place between I-35E and Marsalis Avenue. Investigators said that a 22-year-old woman was on foot at the time. While in the area of Laureland, an eastbound vehicle struck the pedestrian. The vehicle then left the scene.

Due to the accident, the pedestrian had serious injuries. No further information about the accident is available at this time.

When I see a situation where a driver flees an accident scene at 3:00 a.m., my first thought is that alcohol may have been a factor. It’s a common reason drivers flee accident scenes, and it’s common at this time of night. So, hopefully authorities can identify the driver and get some answers here.
