Kaufman County, TX — December 31, 2023, a pedestrian was injured following a hit-and-run accident at around 10:00 p.m. along Helms Trail.
Officials said in their statements that the collision happened in the area of Helms Trail and Homestead Lane in the area of Forney.
According to investigators, a 45-year-old woman was walking at the time along Helms when it appears a vehicle going northbound struck the woman. That vehicle then reportedly left the scene. The woman was taken to a hospital with apparently serious injuries.
Authorities at this time have not offered any description of the suspect vehicle involved in the accident. No further information is currently available.
