Pedestrian Injured in Car Accident on Story Road in Irving, TX

Irving, TX — February 5, 2025, a pedestrian sustained injuries due to a car accident that happened around 6:48 p.m. along North Story Road.

According to officials, the incident happened off the corner of Story Road and Concord Drive, just south of Irving Boulevard.

Investigators said that a 41-year-old man was on foot at the time in the area of northbound lanes of Story Road. While there, a GMC Sierra going northbound apparently struck the man. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.

There were no other reported injuries. Authorities did not confirm any charges or citations. No further information is available right now.

Pedestrian accidents can sometimes create unique challenges for people due to the fact they’re often written off as simple. People may think right-of-way is the only important factor to look into. That’s not really true though. There also should be investigations into things like lighting, signage, road design, alcohol, distraction, visibility issues, medical conditions, etc. If authorities are too hasty in their efforts, these possible factors can easily slip through the cracks. Were authorities here more thorough, or did they, too, leave some important details on the cutting room floor?
