How Did This Accident Occur?
Pedestrians aren’t generally supposed to be on the interstate, so accidents like this are often the result of someone trying to cross a road they shouldn’t try to cross. However, that’s just one possible explanation. There are possible extenuating circumstances where a pedestrian might be hit on the interstate for reasons they can’t entirely control. Was there some kind of medical emergency? Were they near a broken-down vehicle? Were they attempting to wave down traffic? Was alcohol a factor? Likely or not, it’s important to consider these things before jumping to conclusions. It might surprise folks how often I’ve seen people blame someone for something they couldn’t avoid.
Did anyone pass through this area leading up to the accident and see anything unusual? Let me know in the comments.
