Edinburg, TX — June 4, 2024, one person was injured following a pedestrian versus car accident at approximately 9:00 p.m. along University Drive.
According to authorities, a 62-year-old man was attempting to cross West University Drive on foot from north to south in the vicinity of the Sugar Road intersection when the accident took place.

The cause of the accident remains unclear. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the pedestrian was struck by an eastbound Ford Focus on University Drive. The man suffered reportedly critical injuries as a result of the accident; he was transported to a local hospital by emergency medical services in order to receive immediate treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
