Eagle Pass, TX — December 19, 2024, a pedestrian was injured as the result of a car accident that happened around 10:33 p.m. on U.S. 57.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the collision happened in the area of Colorado Street.
Investigators said that a 29-year-old man was on foot at the time. While in the area of the roadway, a Chevy Equinox going eastbound struck the man. As a result, the man sustained serious injuries.
There were no other reported injuries. Right now, additional specifics surrounding the accident are unavailable.

Pedestrian accidents often slip through the cracks because they’re not always seen as a high priority. People don’t generally think they can involve unique contributing factors, but that should be up to the evidence to say one way or another. So if authorities here were too quick to move on to other responsibilities, there may still be important details that need further attention.
