San Antonio, TX — December 25, 2023, a pedestrian was injured following an alleged intoxicated driver accident at around 8:00 p.m. on Loop 410.
Authorities were called to the Southside area crash at the intersection of Loop 410 and Roosevelt Avenue.
According to police officials, the victim was a 67-year-old man who was walking along a sidewalk at the time. On the roadway, police allege that a Lexus going southbound on Roosevelt failed to yield to a Chevy Equinox going northbound. As a result, the two vehicles collided. this sent the Lexus off-road where it struck the pedestrian on the sidewalk.
The man hit by the vehicle was transported for treatment of reportedly serious injuries. There were no other reported injuries. At this time, authorities allege that the Lexus driver was intoxicated and will face a charge for intoxication assault. The details surrounding the crash remain unconfirmed pending investigations.
