Right now, there’s no word on where this driver had been drinking. That’s important for authorities to look into because they could find there’s a local alcohol provider who played a role in this and may still be putting the public at risk. I’ve had hundreds of cases against those kinds of negligent alcohol providers, and it’s always surprising how often authorities just let them off the hook and focus only on the drunk drivers. They obviously deserve to be held accountable, but if a negligent alcohol provider breaks the law, and people get hurt, shouldn’t they also be held accountable? The answer is yes—and that’s not just my opinion. That’s Texas law.
