August 1, 2026, one person was killed following a car versus pedestrian accident at 5:16 a.m. along Montopolis Drive.
According to preliminary statements about the accident, it took place at the intersection of Montopolis Drive and Bastrop Highway.
It appears that a pedestrian was in the area of the Montopolis and Bastrop Highway service road intersection. There, a vehicle struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian reportedly died as a result.
