Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

People tend to overlook pedestrian accidents unless there is clear information that the pedestrian was in a marked crosswalk. These accidents are rarely so simple. As important as it is to know if a victim was in a crosswalk, it’s just one possible factor of many. What was visibility like? Is this an intersection with bad signage or lighting? Was alcohol or distract a factor? Were there other unusual, extenuating circumstances? At the end of the day, a family lost their loved one. There should be a clear understanding of what happened based on clear facts.
