Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Hit-and-runs aren’t always as simple as just locating the runaway driver. Investigations must also consider what led to the accident and why the driver fled in the first place. Often, there is something that driver wanted to hide, such as drunk driving or warrants. As such, accountability might not begin and end at charging a driver for hit-and-run. There could be more to the story that requires more thorough investigations.
