Hartford, CT — January 9, 2024, Paula Garcia was killed as the result of a semi-truck accident at around 2:40 a.m. on Interstate 91.
Authorities said in their preliminary statements that the collision happened on northbound lanes of the interstate near Exit 29A for Capitol Area.
According to officials, 53-year-old Paula Garcia was a passenger in a Nissan Rogue which was going northbound along I-91. The Nissan apparently slowed down, but a semi-truck approaching it did not and struck the Nissan from behind. Due to this collision, Garcia sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the Nissan reportedly had injuries described as minor.
Right now, it’s unclear if anyone else was injured due to the collision. Police have not said what factors contributed to the crash nor have they reported any citations or charges. No further information is currently available.
