Grand Prairie, TX — March 14, 2026, Patricia Samuels was injured in an alleged drunk driver accident at about 11:30 p.m. on State Highway 161.
A preliminary accident report indicates that a southbound 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe rear-ended a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C near Tarrant Road.
Mercedes driver Patricia Samuels, 58, was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report.
The Hyundai driver, who was not injured, was charged with intoxication assault after the crash, the report states.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Dallas County crash at this time.
How Did This Accident Occur?
I expect investigators to figure out if the Hyundai crashed into the Mercedes because the driver was distracted or fatigued, or whether the crash happened because the Mercedes stopped suddenly, or for some other reason, but their probe shouldn’t stop there if tests prove the Hyundai driver was intoxicated. Then the question should be, Where did she get her alcohol?
It’s one thing if she had been drinking at home before the crash, but if an alcohol provider served her while she saw visibly intoxicated that bar or restaurant may share accountability for the injuries she caused when she got behind the wheel.
I don’t know if that is what happened prior to this crash, but the injured woman and her family deserve to know everyone involved in causing this accident.
