Harris County, TX — November 2, 2025, Pashauna Mokwunye was killed as the result of a car accident around 12:35 a.m. along the South Freeway.
According to initial details from Houston Police officials, the crash happened in the area of Highway 288 and Reed Road.
Authorities said that 42-year-old Pashauna Mokwunye was the driver of a Ford Expedition that was going southbound along TX-288. In events unclear, the vehicle crashed along the side of the road, overturning in the process.
Due to the crash, Pashauna Mokwunye was killed. No further information about the accident has been confirmed.

It’s not unusual for there to be few details regarding what happened here. Unfortunately, it also wouldn’t be surprising if that was due to authorities not giving the accident the attention it deserved.
Simply put, I’ve handled countless single-vehicle wrecks over the years. It would shock people how often authorities moved on without knowing the whole story because they felt there were higher priorities for their officers to focus on. For a family in need of answers, though, a crash like is the priority.
So while I can’t say what all happened here, a serious crash demands a serious investigation. Maybe authorities will be able to address all the concerns and questions the victim’s family has. If they can’t, though, there may need to be another set of eyes looking things over to make sure nothing important slips through the cracks.
