How Did This Accident Occur?

When a crash involves a turning vehicle like this, there are two obvious scenarios: the turning vehicle went when it was not safe, or the other vehicle was speeding before the collision.

Investigators likely will consider those possibilities as they review evidence from the scene, data from the two vehicles and any available video footage of the crash, but what if a mechanical issue contributed to the crash? Maybe the Chevrolet’s brakes failed or the Toyota experienced sudden acceleration. That won’t be obvious from looking at the wreckage, so a qualified expert may be needed to examine both vehicles in a laboratory setting before they are scrapped or repaired.

It is essential for investigators to consider every possible cause of this crash, to provide answers to those affected by this accident about how it happened.
