Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
With any serious car accident, it’s important to consider some key questions. I’ve found that they can be crucial for pointing folks in the right direction for what next steps are best for them.
- Did authorities do a thorough accident reconstruction, or was the crash treated as a low priority?
- Were the vehicles inspected for defects, either relating to control over the vehicle or safety devices meant to prevent serious injuries?
- Have authorities secured electronic evidence from phones, cameras, and the vehicles?
In my experience, if authorities have satisfactory answers to these questions, it’s likely they did good investigations. Otherwise, if their answers come up short, there could be more to the story not getting the attention it deserves.
