How Did This Accident Occur?

Authorities have not put out much information about this crash so far, but I hope investigators are working to fill in the gaps. A full investigation should yield a clear explanation of what happened on U.S. 72.

Getting to that point likely will start with collecting evidence at the scene, including witness statements, data from the vehicles and any available video footage of the crash. Cell phone record could show if one of these drivers was distracted at the time of the crash, but an outside expert may be needed if investigators suspect a vehicle defect contributed to this accident.

Most law enforcement agencies don’t have the resources for forensic examinations of the vehicles, in my experience, but the results of such exams may be needed to sort out how this crash happened.
