Frederick County, VA — June 23, 2026, one person was killed and another person was injured in a truck accident at about 9:50 a.m. on Interstate 81 north of Stephens City.
Authorities said a southbound semi-truck crossed the median and crashed into a northbound semi-truck near mile marker 309.7, before both vehicles collided with a third semi-truck. A northbound car crashed into a guardrail after it swerved to avoid the wreck.
The driver of the first truck, whose name has not been made public yet, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to authorities.
The driver of the second truck was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, authorities said, while the third truck driver was not hurt.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Frederick County crash at this time.
