Accident Report
Sarasota, FL — June 18, 2026, one person was killed and another was injured in a truck accident at about 6:50 a.m. on Interstate 75.
Authorities said a 2006 Ford sedan was entering southbound I-75 from Clark Street when it blew a tire and swerved into the path of a 2000 Peterbilt semi-truck. The resulting collision in the center lane caused the truck to overturn in the median.
Both drivers were hospitalized with serious injuries after the crash east of Sarasota, according to authorities.
The Ford driver, a 27-year-old Sarasota man, subsequently died from his injuries, authorities said. His name has not been made public yet.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Sarasota County crash at this time.
