How Did This Accident Occur?

We don’t know much about what happened on I-70 at this time, so it’s hard to jump to any conclusions about what caused this accident. That is usually the best policy, in my experience, since a full investigation should provide the facts needed to reconstruct this crash.

Investigators likely will rely on physical evidence, vehicle data, witness statements and any available video footage to piece together what happened here. Cell phone records could show what each driver was doing at the time.

Driver logs and maintenance records could offer clues as well, indicating if any of the drivers had been on the road too long or if one of these trucks was overdue from service.

This investigation should provide answers to any lingering questions the grieving family may have about this accident.
