How Did This Accident Occur?

It is not clear at this point what caused this crash. We don’t even know how the woman who died was involved in the accident. That is why a full investigation is needed.

Authorities will work to reconstruct this crash by poring over vehicle data, physical evidence, witness statements and any available video footage. Cell phone records could show what each driver was doing at the time.

If investigators suspect a mechanical issue contributed to this crash, all three vehicles should be examined by a qualified expert. Most police departments do not have the time or training for such inspections, in my experience, but the injured woman and her family deserve to know as much as possible about what caused this accident.
