Madison County, FL — May 25, 2026, a Texas woman was killed and another person was injured in a truck accident at about 5:10 p.m. on Interstate 10 south of Lee.
Authorities said a westbound sedan drifted into the median near mile marker 262 then crashed into the back of a semi-truck when it re-entered the highway. The car ended up trapped under the back end of the truck before both vehicles stopped on the north shoulder.
A Texas woman riding in the sedan died at the scene of the crash, according to authorities, while the driver was transported to a Tallahassee hospital with critical injuries. Their names have not been made public yet.
The truck driver was not injured, authorities said.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Madison County crash at this time.
