How Did This Accident Occur?
Was the area of the crash well lit? Was the Infiniti driver distracted or fatigued? Were any other vehicles able to avoid a collision? I don’t claim to know the answer to these questions, but they are the ones that authorities must consider as they work to reconstruct this accident.
Physical evidence, witness statements, data from the car’s engine control module and any available video footage will help investigators piece together what happened on Fondren Road. Cell phone records could show what the driver was doing at the time.
A thorough investigation is needed to provide answers for the pedestrian’s family. If they are not satisfied with the official version of events, they may choose to seek out an independent probe.
