How Did This Accident Occur?
It’s hard to how this crash happened when at this point authorities can’t even tell us how many vehicles were involved. That only proves my frequent point that we should avoid rushing to any conclusions about a crash until the investigation is complete.
The investigation, by authorities or a third party, must include scrutiny of witness statements, evidence from the scene, data from the vehicles involved and any available traffic camera data. That should clarify how many vehicles were involved in this crash, and how they came together.
Did one vehicle rear-end another, starting a chain reaction? Or did they collide while one of the vehicles was changing lanes?
Those answers will come from the investigation, not any early assumptions or guesses.
