Houston, TX — June 25, 2026, a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident at about 3:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of South Gessner Road.
Authorities said a box truck hit a woman at the Ventura Lofts, an apartment complex west of downtown Houston.
The woman, whose name has not been made public yet, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to authorities.
The box truck driver was arrested a short time later after police obtained surveillance video of the accident, authorities said. The 33-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid in an accident resulting in death.
