How Did This Accident Occur?
We don’t know much about this crash at this point. Did these vehicles collide at the intersection? Was one turning? Or where they headed opposite directions? Was one driver distracted? Did a mechanical issue contribute to this collision? Investigators should try to answer these questions as they work to reconstruct this accident.
Authorities likely will rely on physical evidence, witness statements, vehicle data and any available video footage to piece together what happened on Bammel Road. Cell phone records could show what each driver was doing at the time.
If investigators suspect a mechanical problem played a role in this crash, they should seek a forensic examination of the vehicles. It should be done by a qualified expert, since most law enforcement agencies don’t have the time or training for such inspections, in my experience.
This investigation should answer any lingering questions the family grieving this crash has about what caused it.
