How Did This Accident Occur?
It is not clear how these vehicles came together at this point. Was one driver distracted, perhaps by a cell phone? Did one truck swerve to avoid another vehicle or an object in the road? Did either vehicle have an issue with its brakes or steering mechanism? These are the kind of questions that authorities should consider as they investigate this crash.
Physical evidence, witness statements, vehicle data and any available video footage should help investigators piece together what happened on Broadway Road, while cell phone records could show if either driver was texting or interacting an app at the time of the crash.
If authorities suspect a mechanical problem contributed to this accident, the vehicles should be examined in a laboratory setting before they are scrapped or repaired. That likely need to be done by an outside expert since most law enforcement agencies don’t have the time or training for such inspections, in my experience.
A thorough investigation should provide those affected by this accident with a clear picture of what caused this collision.
