Accident Report
Bailey County, TX — June 1, 2026, one person was killed in a car accident at about 2:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 70 near Muleshoe.
A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2021 Hyundai Sonata was heading northwest when it crashed into a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro that was disabled in a construction zone near Peach Street. The impact caused the Camaro to overturn.
The Chevrolet driver, a 31-year-old Muleshoe man, died from injuries suffered in the crash, according to the report. His name has not been made public yet.
The three people in the Hyundai were listed as possibly injured, the report states.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Bailey County crash at this time.
