How Did This Accident Occur?

Investigators likely are focusing on why this pickup left the road. Was the driver distracted, perhaps by a cell phone? Did another car force it to swerve? Did the truck, which is more than a dozen years old, have a problem with its brakes or steering mechanism? These are the questions that authorities should focus on in their probe of this crash.

Evidence from the scene, data from the Ford’s engine control module and any available video footage of the crash should help piece together what happened on F.M. 837.
